Lead Meaningful Change in Specialist Education
Teaching Personnel is seeking an experienced and passionate SENCO to join a highly supportive specialist setting catering for children and young people with complex additional needs.
This is an urgent appointment, offering the chance to help shape SEND provision across multiple sites while making a measurable difference to the lives of vulnerable learners.
The successful applicant will join on a 12-week temp-to-perm basis, with the school looking to secure a permanent member of staff following a successful placement.
The Position
This role combines strategic leadership with operational expertise.
You will work collaboratively with teaching staff, therapists, families and external agencies to ensure every learner receives the support, guidance and provision required to thrive academically, socially and emotionally.
As the position involves working across several locations, a full UK Driving Licence is essential.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and develop SEND provision.
- Ensure compliance with current SEND legislation.
- Coordinate EHCP reviews and documentation.
- Analyse progress data and identify effective interventions.
- Support staff development and best practice.
- Promote trauma-informed and inclusive approaches.
- Liaise with external professionals and local authorities.
- Strengthen relationships with families and carers.
- Contribute to wider leadership and school improvement priorities.
About You
- QTS or equivalent.
- NASENCO qualification or willingness to complete.
- Experience supporting pupils with SEMH and Autism.
- Strong knowledge of SEND systems and legislation.
- Outstanding organisational skills.
- Ability to influence and develop colleagues.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Full UK Driving Licence.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
