Graduate SEN Teaching Assistant – Mainstream & Specialist Schools
Shrewsbury & Telford | £95+ per day | Day-to-Day, with Long-Term & Permanent Opportunities | Immediate & November Starts
Teaching Personnel is recruiting graduates to work as SEN Teaching Assistants in mainstream and specialist schools across the Shrewsbury and Telford area. The role offers flexible day-to-day work and a route into long-term and permanent positions.
About the Schools
The schools are inclusive and community-focused, committed to helping every young person succeed, including those with SEN. You may be supporting students with identified needs to access lessons alongside their peers in a mainstream setting, or working in a specialist setting where pupils have a range of more complex needs, including Autism and social, emotional and mental health needs.
The Role
- Supporting individual pupils and small groups in lessons
- Helping pupils develop communication, independence and confidence
- Supporting emotional regulation and positive behaviour
- Gaining experience across mainstream and specialist settings
- Working alongside teachers, SENCOs and specialist staff
Who We’re Looking For
Graduates in any discipline, particularly:
- Psychology
- Criminology
- Sociology
- Education Studies
- Health and Social Care
- Sports Science
You should have:
- A genuine interest in SEN and supporting young people
- Patience, empathy and strong communication skills
- A professional, reliable approach
- Previous experience is welcome, but it is not essential

Requirements
- Right to work in the UK
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to apply for one
- Two years of professional references

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
