Secondary Teaching Assistant / Cover Supervisor – Shrewsbury & Telford

Shrewsbury & Telford | ££ Competitive day rate | Day-to-Day, Long-Term & Temp-to-Perm | Immediate & November Starts

Teaching Personnel is recruiting Teaching Assistants and Cover Supervisors to work across a number of secondary schools in the Shrewsbury and Telford area. Work is available on a day-to-day basis, with opportunities to move into long-term and permanent roles.

About the Schools
These are friendly, community-focused schools with high expectations for both achievement and behaviour. They place a strong emphasis on inclusion and on supporting all students, including those with SEN and those who need extra help, to do well and move confidently on to their next steps. The schools also value their support staff and offer clear routes into pastoral, teaching and leadership roles.

The Role

  • Providing in-class support for students with SEN, including Autism, ADHD, and social, emotional and mental health needs
  • Supervising classes and delivering pre-set cover lessons
  • Supporting small-group and 1:1 sessions
  • Upholding school expectations on behaviour and learning
  • Building positive relationships with students and staff

Who We’re Looking For

  • Experience working with young people, whether in school, youth, sport or care settings
  • Confidence in managing a classroom and engaging teenagers
  • Strong communication skills and a resilient, professional approach
  • Aspiring teachers are very welcome

Requirements

  • Right to work in the UK
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to apply for one
  • Two years of professional references

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
