Teaching Assistant - to work with special needs child
An all age special school (5-19) located in Croydon are currently recruiting for 2-3 Behaviour Teaching Assistants to work 1-1 to support pupils with ASC and challenging behaviour.
About the role:
- SEN Teaching Assistant
- Supporting a pupil with challenging behaviour and ASC
- Long Term Full Time (Monday to Friday 8:30 - 15:30)
- Start Immediately
- Working in a small class with pupils led by a class teacher and supported by another 2 Teaching Assistants
About the School:
This lovely SEN School in Croydon caters for children and young people with a wide range of learning difficulties, including Autistic Spectrum Disorder (ASD), and moderate learning and medical needs. All the pupils have a Statement of Special Educational Needs (SEN) or an Educational Health Care Plan (EHC).
The ideal candidate / desired skills and experience:
- Available to start immediately
- Commit to a full time long term role (5 days a week)
- PECS and Makaton experience
- Team Teach (or equivalent positive handling training)
- SEMH/SEN experience
- Engaging personality
- The ability to build strong relationships
- Sports background
- Teaching assistant/support work
- Youth work / Support Work / Care Work
