Job description

A secondary school located in Southampton is currently seeking a Geography teacher to start after the Easter Holidays on a temporary basis originally with the opportunity to become permanent.

The school located in heart the outskirts of Southampton is larger than average secondary school which serves the surrounding communities. Due to an increasing strong academic record and their excellent reputation within the local community the school has recently grown in size with over 1200 students currently on roll and have been oversubscribed in recent years. The school currently meets the government's floor standards, which set the minimum expectations for student's attainment and progress with 73% of students achieving A*-C grades in Humanities in 2016.

Humanities (Geography) Teacher:

  • UK qualified teacher status (NQTs are welcome to apply)
  • Teach all ability students from Year 7, GCSE and A Level
  • Plan and deliver challenging and engaging lessons to raise attainment and progression
  • Have excellent behaviour management and classroom presence

The Head of department is looking to meet with potential candidates at the earliest convenience to be taken into consideration for the above position.

All applicants will require the appropriate qualification and training for this role. For teacher roles, we require a formally recognised teaching qualification. For Support staff our minimum requirement is GCSE English & Maths (A-C) or equivalent.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.
