Support Workers and Teaching Assistant required

Teaching Personnel are working very closely with a school in Lymington in the New Forest. The school cater for Primary and Secondary pupils that are diagnosed with Autism. Alongside this the pupils may have other needs such as challenging behaviour, learning difficulties, speech and language difficulties or a variation of all. The majority of the pupils live on the school site in the residential houses as well as attending the school.

They are looking for staff both in the residential side as well as in the school.

School

Working in the school would be Monday to Friday 8:15-4:15. They have class sizes of 4-5 in a class with a teacher and at least one Teaching Assistant. They offer a variety of subjects so if you have a passion in creative subjects this role would be ideal as you can utilise your skills in the classroom with the pupil. You may be asked to work 1:1 or in small groups as well as following direction from the teacher.

Residential

In the residential side they are setting up 2 new homes so they do shifts but they can be flexible at the moment. The shifts can vary from 6, 8 to 14 hour shifts which could take place in the day, night or weekends. During this you would support the pupil in their home with life skills. The day shifts would involve working with the school staff to support the child in break and lunch times as wel as potentially helping in the school.
