Do you have support work experience and are looking for regular, flexible work?
Teaching Personnel provide staffing support to a School and Residential home in the Stockport borough, which caters to students with complex and multiple disabilities and special needs.
The school require on and off support throughout the year, taking on Support staff on fixed term and rolling contracts to work on a 1:1 basis with particular students.
The role
As Support Worker, you'll assist your assigned student throughout their school day, helping them in each lesson to engage with their curriculum and make positive developmental steps, as well as encouraging them to practice techniques given by specialist occupational therapists in school.
Students may have a variety of needs, such as physical, medical, emotional, social and behavioural so applicants need to be able to show at least 1 years experience in a Support or Care role, providing assistance to clients with specified needs.
Other duties are likely to include Moving and Handling, Personal Care, De-escalation and intervention and more, so training in these areas is essential.
Working hours are Monday to Friday 8.30am-4pm, and can be full time, part time or ad hoc - whatever suits your needs.
