Teaching Personnel are currently working with an SEN school who are looking for a Teacher to work children in Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4.

The school are looking for a passionate and creative Teacher who has experience working with students with SEMH/challenging behaviour. You will be expected to teach a range of subjects across the curriculum. 

 You must be enthusiastic and highly motivated and will be expected to make a significant contribution to the school. You will join their vision of high expectations of achievement and behaviour and offer a nurturing and supportive ethos, celebrating differences and ensuring that everyone meets their full potential.

To be considered for this role you will need to-

  • Have experience working as a Teacher (teachers with and without QTS will be considered)
  • Provide support for pupils ensuring their safety and access to learning activities.
  • Assist with the development and implementation of education or behaviour plans
  • Establish trusted relationships with pupils and work with them on an individual needs basis.
  • Promote the inclusion of all pupils in the classroom
  • Encourage pupils to interact in classroom learning and with their peers
  • Promote self confidence and set individual tailored goals and challenges
  • Be Team Teach trained or willing to complete the course
  • Have Experience in youth work or relevant experience in behaviour management

The school is a maintained community special school for students aged between 11 and 16 who have an Education Health and Care Plan (EHCP) or a Statement of Special Educational Need (SEN).  In most cases the primary identified need is Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) and behavioural difficulties, although the majority of students have additional special educational needs such as autistic spectrum condition, AD(H)D, speech, language and communication difficulties, opposition defiance and attachment disorders.

The school is situated on the southern edge of Devizes in beautiful countryside and opened in 1971.  They are a happy, friendly and inclusive school.  We are pleased to accommodate all students and we are proud of the achievements and progress that all our learners make.  The staff team work as a cohesive multidisciplinary unit to overcome barriers to learning and to provide stability, consistency and the highest quality of education and care guidance to support students to make accelerated learning gains.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
