Teaching Assistant (Full-Time)

Location: Basingstoke
Setting: Post-16 SEN Provision – Learners with Learning Disabilities
Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience

We are seeking a caring and motivated Teaching Assistant to join a Post-16 Special Educational Needs provision in Basingstoke, supporting young people aged 16–19 with learning disabilities.

This role involves working closely with teaching staff to support students in developing academic, social and independent living skills. You will provide one-to-one and small group support, encourage positive engagement, and help create a safe, inclusive and structured learning environment. Some personal care support may be required.

We welcome applications from candidates with a wide range of support backgrounds, including education, care, youth work, health and social care, or community support. A patient, empathetic and proactive approach is essential. Experience with SEN is beneficial but not essential for the right candidate with transferable skills and a genuine passion for supporting young people.

Due to the location and community-based activities, it is beneficial to hold a full UK driving licence and have access to your own transport.

All roles are subject to satisfactory safeguarding checks. A Child Workforce DBS on the Update Service is required, or willingness to obtain one.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
