The Essentials

• Location: Northampton, Thrapston & surrounding areas
• Pay: £90 – £110 per day
• Hours: 8:30 AM – 3:30 PM (Monday to Friday, Term Time Only)
• Contract: Full-Time Agency Cover with Permanent opportunities available

The Role: What You’ll Be Doing

As an SEN Specialist, you aren’t just a classroom assistant—you are a mentor and a guide. Your day-to-day will involve:

• Targeted Support: Providing 1:1 and small group intervention for students with diverse needs.
• Overcoming Barriers: Helping pupils manage emotional, behavioral, and learning challenges.
• Inclusive Learning: Adapting materials and implementing Individual Education Plans (IEPs) to ensure no child is left behind.
• Collaboration: Working hand-in-hand with teachers and SENCOs to create a safe, positive environment.

Who We Are Looking For

We need "people people"—those who remain calm under pressure and lead with empathy.

• Experience: Previous experience in a school setting supporting SEN pupils is highly desirable.
• Specialist Skills: Team Teach training and SEMH (Social, Emotional, and Mental Health) experience are a huge plus.
• Mindset: A resilient approach with the ability to de-escalate challenging situations safely.
• Compliance: A valid Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).
