Would you be interested in guaranteed supply work starting immediately?

Are you keen on finding a close-knit, forward-thinking team to become apart of?

If so, read on to learn more about our new and exciting work opportunities!

Teaching Personnel is working in a sole partnership agreement with The Astrea Academy Trust (AAT), which will continue to go from strength to strength next academic year as we continue to work together.

The AAT is a unique multi-academy trust (MAT), encompassing Cottenham Village College (Cambridge), Ernulf Academy (St. Neots), Longsands Academy (St. Neots), St Ivo Academy (St. Ives) & The Centre School Cottenham (Cambridge), with a forward-thinking leadership team who are looking to provide unique and collaborative solutions towards supply cover in their schools. From recent meetings with them, it is clear that they are passionate about education, employees, pupils, and working with the wider community.

We are looking for teachers who are actively seeking regular supply work, to build up a cohort of ‘Astrea Teachers’ who will regularly provide cover across the schools (both emergency sickness and planned absence). The vision is to have a core group of committed teachers every term who are willing to learn the Astrea values, become an integral part of the schools, and help them achieve their educational goals. You will not be considered as just ‘a supply teacher’, you will be a valuable member of the Astrea staffing team and will be fully supported into Astrea life with access to a range of benefits through the trust. You will be registered and employed via Teaching Personnel and will receive access to the following benefits:

  • Guaranteed Work Schemes (GWS) via Teaching Personnel, to work across Astrea Schools (if you commit your availability to work with Astrea, you can still be paid on days where the schools do not have a requirement!)
  • Astrea Induction Events – Upon acceptance to be involved with Astrea and Teaching Personnel’s collaborative supply partnership, you will be invited to a ‘Meet The Head’ induction event, which will involve tea and cake with the Senior Leaders of the schools and an introduction to the Astrea Values from Benedick Ashmore-Short (Director of Education and previous winner of Head Teacher of the Year).
  • FREE Access to Astrea’s CPD – free access to Astrea’s professional development resources. These are available to all permanent staff and Astrea will make available to the supply cohort
  • Fair Pay Rates - daily rates of pay up to GBP130.00 for ad hoc supply, paid via PAYE with no additional payroll or employers NI charges, and paid to scale for long term assignments post 12 weeks
  • Flexibility - full or part time work to fit around your existing commitments and the opportunity to work across different schools within the trust
  • Continuity – as an Astrea Teacher you will work within the same schools, allowing you to return to a familiar environment and get to know the staff and pupils
  • Referral Bonus - GBP50 reward every time you recommend a colleague to work with us
  • Opportunity – for long-term roles or permanent positions at the school further down the line if your circumstances change

Because the majority of these Astrea Schools are Secondary, the school requires qualified and experienced secondary teachers to provide subject specialist cover, although if there is cover required outside of your subject specialism you will be required to cover other subjects with passion, flexibility and dedication to the best of your ability. Astrea’s detailed induction and support programs will help ensure that you are comfortable in the school and provided with all the tools you need to enjoy regular, supportive supply cover!

We welcome applications from experienced Secondary School Teachers with any subject specialism, available 2-5 days per week for regular cover, and are happy to travel to the named schools above.

To apply for a position to join Teaching Personnel’s Astrea Supply cohort, please get in touch ASAP. Please send your up to date CV to me directly at sophia.binns@teachingpersonnel.com with the email subject as 'ASTREA'.

All applicants will require the appropriate qualifications and training for this role. Please see teachingpersonnel.com/faqs for details.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.

Teaching Personnel is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. All candidates must undertake or have undertaken a valid enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check. Full assistance provided.
