Sports Coaches seeking to become a Teaching Assistant – Huntingdon
If you have a sporting background and have previously, or, are looking to support children with their education then this role is ideal for you!
Teaching Personnel are recruiting for a school within the Huntingdon area that are looking for applicants with the following attributes:
- Energetic and Physically fit
- Eager to support and aid children with SEN as well as SEMH
- Experience in a sporting background
- Mental & Physical Resilience
We are looking for individuals with a sports background who are looking to get into teaching assistant work. You will be required to work within school hours – 8:30-3:30, on either a full time or part time basis.
Some of your responsibilities as a Teaching Assistant will include:
- Working 1:1
- Intervention
- Support Teachers within the class
- Improving student wellbeing, confidence and concentration.
- Challenging and motivating pupils, reinforcing self esteem.
- To be a role model to students and help inspire them to lead a healthy lifestyle.
The role itself is challenging in terms of the pupils that need support due to their tendency to display challenging behaviour, however the role is its own reward due to the high level of interaction and personal development of the pupils that successful applicants will get to become a part of. All training needed will be provided and the school has a very supportive network of high level teaching staff, health professions and other support assistants.
All Applicants will need safeguarding training in order to be considered. If you don’t have any safeguarding training, don’t fret, Teaching Personnel can provide you with it, which will then give you exactly what you need to start working with children

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
