Secondary Science Teacher - September Start

Area: Lambeth, Clapham

Job Duties:

The Secondary Science Teacher will be responsible for planning, preparing, and delivering engaging Science lessons to secondary school students. They will create a stimulating learning environment, assess students' progress, and provide constructive feedback to support their development. The teacher will also collaborate with colleagues to enhance the Science curriculum and participate in school events and parent-teacher meetings.

Required Qualifications:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Degree in Science or related field
  • Demonstrated experience teaching Science at the secondary level
  • Strong classroom management skills

Education:

A Bachelor's degree in Science or a related field is required. A PGCE or equivalent teaching qualification is also essential.

Experience:

The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years of experience teaching Science at the secondary level. Experience working with diverse student populations and implementing differentiated instruction is preferred.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Thorough knowledge of the Science curriculum
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to adapt teaching methods to meet the needs of individual students
  • Strong organisational and time management skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Postgraduate qualification in Education
  • Experience using technology in the classroom
  • Participation in relevant professional development courses

Working Conditions:

This is a full-time, permanent position with the expectation to work standard school hours. The Secondary Science Teacher will be based in a secondary school setting and may be required to attend school events outside of regular hours. The salary range for this position is £140 - £230 per day.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
