We are seeking an enthusiastic and knowledgeable Geography Teacher to join our passionate team of educators. The successful candidate will inspire students to explore the complexities of the natural and human world, develop geographical skills, and cultivate an appreciation for environmental sustainability. This role offers an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful impact on students' understanding of the world and their role within it.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and deliver engaging and differentiated geography lessons that align with the national curriculum and promote active learning.
  • Utilise a variety of teaching strategies and resources to facilitate student exploration of geographical concepts, including fieldwork opportunities and digital technologies.
  • Foster a supportive and inclusive classroom environment where students feel empowered to ask questions, express their ideas, and develop their geographical knowledge and skills.
  • Assess student progress through a range of formative and summative assessment methods, providing timely and constructive feedback to support learning.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop interdisciplinary learning experiences and cross-curricular connections that enhance students' understanding of geography.
  • Engage with the wider school community through participation in extracurricular activities, educational trips, and school events.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent recognized teaching qualification.
  • Specialization in geography or related field, with a strong academic background in the subject.
  • Passion for geography education and a genuine interest in fostering students' curiosity about the world.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate students of diverse backgrounds and abilities.
  • Commitment to promoting environmental awareness and sustainability within the curriculum and school community.
  • Previous experience teaching geography at the secondary level is advantageous but not essential; NQTs are encouraged to apply.
