Are you a caring, motivated SEN Teaching Assistant with a passion for helping young people thrive? We are a respected Local Authority Specialist Secondary School in Crosby, Liverpool, dedicated to supporting pupils aged 11–16 who have Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). All of our pupils have an Education, Health, and Care Plan (EHCP), ensuring their individual needs are central to their learning journey.

About the Role

We are seeking a full-time SEN Teaching Assistant to join our skilled and nurturing team. In this role, you will work closely with teachers and support staff to help pupils progress academically, socially, and emotionally. You will provide both one-to-one and small-group support, assist with lesson preparation, and contribute to creating an inclusive, positive, and encouraging classroom environment where every student can succeed.

Key Responsibilities

Deliver tailored support to pupils with SEND, helping them overcome barriers to learning and achieve their personalised goals.
Assist in planning and delivering lessons and activities that are accessible, engaging, and appropriately adapted.
Contribute to a safe, supportive, and inclusive learning environment that motivates pupils to do their best.
Support the development of pupils’ social skills, confidence, independence, and readiness for life beyond school.
Work collaboratively with teachers, parents/carers, and external professionals to review progress and adapt support as needed.

Experience: Previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant within a SEND or specialist setting is essential.
Compassionate: Warm, patient, and dedicated to helping young people with SEND reach their full potential.

Team Player: Excellent communication skills and a collaborative approach.
Committed: Shares our school’s values and is passionate about making a meaningful difference in the lives of our pupils.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
