Pay Rate: £13.75 to £15 per hour

About the Role

Teaching Personnel are seeking a patient, proactive and understanding Teaching Assistant to provide 1:1 ADHD support for a Year 1 pupil . This role is ideal for someone passionate about helping children thrive through structure, encouragement and clear routines, while also developing valuable skills to enhance their professional portfolio.

About the Role Responsibilities

  • Provide warm, consistent and patient 1:1 support for a Year 1 pupil with ADHD, helping them feel regulated, supported and confident in the classroom.
  • Use strategies such as task‑chunking, movement breaks, visual prompts and positive reinforcement to help the pupil stay engaged and focused.
  • Work collaboratively with the SENCO, class teacher, parents and any external professionals to ensure consistent, child‑centred support.
  • Encourage positive routines, social development and confidence‑building moments that help the pupil feel valued and successful.
  • Adapt activities, offer reassurance and bring creativity to lessons so the child can participate at their own pace and in their own learning style.
  • Be part of a supportive team that celebrates small achievements, promotes inclusion and understands the importance of emotional regulation for ADHD learners.

What We’re Looking For

  • Experience working with children or in a similar support role.
  • Experience supporting pupils with additional needs, particularly ADHD or attention‑related challenges.
  • A child‑focused, calm, patient and understanding approach.
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service.
  • Minimum qualification: GCSE Grade C or equivalent.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
