SEN Teaching Assistant – Kirkby (Start Date: March)

EYFS • KS1 • KS2 | Full-Time | Long-Term Potential

Are you a passionate and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant looking to make a real difference? We’re recruiting for an inclusive, welcoming primary school in the Kirkby area, seeking an SEN TA to support pupils across EYFS, KS1 and KS2 starting in March.

Job Description

As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will:

  • Work 1:1 and in small groups with pupils with a range of additional needs.
  • Support teachers across EYFS, KS1, and KS2, adapting to different stages of learning.
  • Assist with behaviour regulation, sensory needs, social/emotional development and communication.
  • Implement personalised learning plans in collaboration with the SENCo.
  • Help create a safe, engaging and inclusive learning environment.

The Ideal Candidate

We’re looking for someone who is:

  • Experienced in supporting children with SEND (Autism, SEMH, speech & language, learning difficulties).
  • Patient, proactive, nurturing and adaptable.
  • Skilled in building strong, trusted relationships with pupils.
  • Confident working across multiple year groups.
  • Passionate about helping children thrive academically and emotionally.

  • Regular high‑frequency bus services linking Kirkby with Liverpool, Bootle, Huyton, Halewood, Ormskirk and St Helens.
