Teaching Assistant (Level 3)

Teaching Personnel are seeking a skilled and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant (Level 3) to support high‑quality teaching and learning across Key Stage 2. The successful candidate will provide Level 3 classroom cover, deliver targeted interventions, support SEND and disadvantaged pupils, contribute to safeguarding and pastoral care, and assist with wraparound childcare provision. The educator will also be expected to contribute positively to the Catholic ethos and values of the school.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support teaching and learning in KS2, including small‑group and 1:1 support.
  • Prepare resources and help create positive, inclusive learning environments.
  • Provide Level 3 classroom cover and maintain good behaviour in line with school policies.
  • Deliver and evaluate targeted academic and pastoral interventions.
  • Support SEND and disadvantaged pupils, following guidance from teachers and the SENCO.
  • Contribute to safeguarding and provide pastoral support to promote pupil wellbeing.
  • Uphold the school’s values and Catholic ethos through positive conduct and teamwork.
  • Work collaboratively with staff, showing initiative to meet pupil needs.
  • Supervise children in before‑ and after‑school wraparound care.

What we are looking for:

  • Experience working in a school environment, specifically across Key Stage 2.
  • Experience delivering or supporting high‑quality teaching and learning.
  • Experience providing Level 3 classroom cover.
  • Strong understanding of SEND, inclusion and support for disadvantaged pupils.
  • Knowledge of safeguarding procedures, behaviour support and pastoral care.
  • Excellent communication, organisation and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to use initiative, adapt support and respond flexibly to pupil needs.
  • Commitment to supporting the Catholic ethos of the school (practising Catholic preferred but not essential).

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
