About the Role

As a 1:1 Support Worker, you will be supporting a primary‑aged pupil who requires additional guidance with their learning, confidence, and emotional development. Building a trusting relationship will be key, as well as working closely with staff to create a consistent and nurturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build a positive, trusting, and supportive relationship with the pupil you are working 1:1 with.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, support staff, and the SENDCo to deliver consistent strategies.
  • Support the pupil in engaging with their learning, developing confidence both academically and socially.
  • Provide consistency and reassurance throughout the school day, both inside and outside the classroom.
  • Implement tailored strategies to improve focus, emotional regulation, and engagement.
  • Reflect on your own practice and identify clear actions for ongoing development.

What We’re Looking For

  • Experience working with children, ideally in a support or 1:1 capacity.
  • Experience supporting children with additional needs is highly desirable.
  • A patient, compassionate, and child‑centred approach.
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one).
  • Minimum of GCSE Grade C (or equivalent) in English and Maths.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
