Location: Old Swan, Liverpool (L13)
Contract: Full-time, long-term
Start: February 2026
Pay Rate: £13.75 - £14.50 per hour (depending on experience)
Are you passionate about supporting children with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs? Do you want to make a meaningful impact in a supportive and inclusive school environment? We are seeking a dedicated SEMH Teaching Assistant to join a vibrant specialist provision in the Old Swan area.
The Role
As an SEMH Teaching Assistant, you will:
- Support pupils with social, emotional, and behavioural challenges on a 1:1 and small‑group basis.
- Help deliver tailored interventions to encourage emotional regulation, resilience, and positive learning behaviours.
- Work closely with the class teacher, SENCO, and wider pastoral team.
- Contribute to creating a safe, structured, and nurturing learning environment.
The Ideal Candidate
We are looking for someone who:
- Has experience supporting children or young people with SEMH, ASD, ADHD, or behavioural needs.
- Brings patience, empathy, and a calm approach to challenging situations.
- Can build positive, trusting relationships with pupils.
- Has strong communication skills and a proactive attitude.
- (Desirable) Holds a relevant qualification or training in SEN, behaviour management, or youth work.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
