SEN Teaching Assistant
Location: Tuebrook, L13
Contract: Temporary (potential for permanent)
Hours: Full-time
Start Date: April 2026
Pay: £14.30 – £15.00 per hour (DOE)
About the Role
Teaching Personnel is proud to be partnering with a warm, inclusive community primary school in Tuebrook, seeking a dedicated Special Educational Needs (SEN) Teaching Assistant to join the team after the half-term break. This role offers a rewarding opportunity to support pupils with additional needs and positively influence their learning experience and personal development.
The successful candidate will work alongside teachers, the SENCO, and wider support staff to deliver tailored support to pupils with a range of needs, including ASC, ADHD, speech and language difficulties, and social-emotional challenges.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide 1:1 support for pupils with EHCPs
- Lead small group interventions focused on literacy, numeracy, and social skills
- Support classroom learning, adapting activities and resources to meet individual needs
- Assist pupils in developing positive behaviour and emotional regulation strategies
- Track and document pupil progress, sharing updates with the SENCO and class teacher
- Foster an inclusive learning environment that encourages independence
About You
We are looking for someone who is:
- Experienced working with children with SEND (school or care background welcome)
- Patient, empathetic, and resilient, with a genuine passion for supporting young people
- Adaptable and proactive in responding to changing needs
- An effective communicator with pupils, staff, and parents
- Aware of safeguarding and child protection procedures
Qualified with relevant certifications such as CACHE Level 2/3 (desirable, not essential)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
