About the role

At Teaching Personnel, we are delighted to announce that we are currently working with Primary School, a warm and welcoming community primary school in Moreton, Wirral, who is seeking a committed 1:1 Teaching Assistant to join their supportive staff team.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is passionate about making a meaningful impact on a child's educational journey while also developing their own skills and experience. The successful candidate will provide dedicated 1:1 support, helping a young learner thrive both academically and personally within the caring and inclusive school environment.

Your Responsibilities will include:

  • Providing dedicated 1:1 support to a Year 1 pupil within a nurturing and supportive school environment.
  • Working closely with the class teacher and SENCO to deliver tailored learning activities and communication strategies that meet the pupil’s specific needs.
  • Supporting the pupil’s academic progression, social development, and emotional wellbeing, ensuring consistent, positive engagement.
  • Assisting with the implementation of personalised support plans, including sensory‑based strategies and alternative communication methods.
  • Promoting an inclusive, compassionate, and respectful classroom environment aligned with the school’s core values.
  • Contributing to wider classroom activities when needed, helping to create a positive and engaging learning experience for all pupils.
  • Building strong, trusting relationships with pupils, staff, and parents/carers to support effective communication and long‑term progress.
  • Benefiting from the opportunity to develop new skills and gain valuable experience within a supportive primary school community in Moreton.

What We Are Looking For

  • Experience in similar roles, such as supporting children in education or care settings.
  • Experience working with children who have additional or special educational needs.
  • An understanding, patient, and child‑focused approach to supporting learning.
  • An Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one).
  • Minimum qualification of GCSE Grade C (or equivalent) in English and Maths.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
