At Teaching Personnel, we are pleased to be supporting a warm, nurturing primary school in Bromborough, Wirral, known for its caring, family‑centred ethos.

The school is seeking a dedicated 1:1 Teaching Assistant to provide focused support to a young learner, helping them thrive within the school's inclusive and supportive environment.

Your Responsibilities will include:

  • Provide dedicated 1:1 support to a Year 1 pupil within a warm, nurturing school environment.
  • Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to deliver tailored learning activities and communication strategies that meet the pupil’s individual needs.
  • Support the pupil’s academic progress, social development, and emotional wellbeing through consistent, positive engagement.
  • Assist with personalised support plans, including sensory strategies and alternative communication methods.
  • Promote an inclusive, compassionate, and respectful classroom atmosphere that reflects the school’s values.
  • Contribute to wider classroom activities when needed, helping create a positive and engaging learning experience for all pupils.
  • Build strong, trusting relationships with pupils, staff, and parents/carers to support ongoing progress.
  • Develop your skills and gain valuable experience within a supportive primary school community.

Candidate Requirements

  • Previous experience supporting children in educational or care settings.
  • Experience working with pupils who have additional or special educational needs.
  • A calm, patient and child‑centred approach to supporting learning.
  • An Enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one).
  • GCSE Grade C/4 or above (or equivalent) in English and Maths.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
