SEN Teaching Assistant – Speke (L24)

EYFS • KS1 • KS2 | March Start | Long-Term Role
Pay: £13.75–£15 per hour (DOE)

Do you have a passion for supporting children with additional needs? A welcoming primary school in Speke (L24) is looking for a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team from March, providing support across EYFS, KS1 and KS2.

Role Overview

As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will:

  • Provide 1:1 and small-group support for pupils with a range of additional needs.
  • Work across EYFS, KS1 and KS2, tailoring support to developmental stages.
  • Assist with behaviour regulation, communication support and emotional wellbeing.
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, the SENCo and external professionals to deliver personalised strategies and learning plans.
  • Help to maintain a supportive, positive and inclusive classroom environment.

Who We’re Looking For

The ideal candidate will be:

  • Experienced in supporting children with SEND (Autism, SEMH, cognition & learning, or communication needs).
  • Patient, nurturing and proactive in responding to children’s individual needs.
  • Adaptable across age groups and confident in using different approaches to support learning.
  • Able to build strong, trusting relationships with pupils and staff.
  • Passionate about helping children build independence, resilience and self-confidence.

Transport & Location – Speke (L24)

Speke is well connected, making commuting simple:

  • Excellent bus routes linking to Liverpool City Centre, Garston and Allerton.
  • Close to Liverpool South Parkway, offering extensive rail and bus connections.
  • Easy access to main routes including the A561, ideal for those travelling by car.
