Teaching Personnel Exeter SEN are working in partnership with a Special Needs school in Torbay to help their recruitment vacancies, specifically SEN teaching assistant on a temporary basis initially with the chance to become permanent.

Due to next academic years intake, the management team wish to recruit a number of dedicated SEN teaching assistants to the school on a full time basis. Previous experience in a similar setting is desirable, but NOT essential! You will be fully supported by experienced members of staff and invited to take part in the schools upskilling training and regular courses for your own development. Responsibilities of this SEN teaching assistant position include;

  • Assistant with the implementation of individuals EHCP (health care plans)
  • Encourage student interaction and engagement within teachers lessons
  • Challenging the behaviour of individuals and small groups in line with school policy
  • Follow school policies on assessment and report directly to teachers and line managers

All applicants will require the appropriate qualification and training for this role. For teacher roles, we require a formally recognised teaching qualification. For Support staff our minimum requirement is GCSE English & Maths (A-C) or equivalent.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.
