An SEN school in Romford, London require a teaching assistant to start full time work with them after the October half term 2019. This is a residential school, although you would be required to work normal school hours (08:45am – 15:45pm). The school is looking for someone who would be able to commit to working 5 days a week indefinitely and also someone who might be interested in taking a permanent role at the school in the future.
This school caters for students with special educational needs including verbal and non-verbal autism, challenging behaviour, moderate to severe learning difficulties and those with speech and language difficulties.
The learning journey offered at this school is largely based on the national curriculum, but tailored to meet the needs of each pupil. You will be essential to aid the success of each individual student in your class and will be able to provide a positive, memorable experience that your students can take away from school each day.
Your role:
- Provide 1:1 and small group support for children in a key stage 4 class who are able to access the lower levels of the national curriculum
- Full time role, Monday to Friday, term time only
- You will provide support across the curriculum and must be confident to support Maths and English
- Work effectively with the class teacher and other teaching assistants in providing positive behaviour support
- Long term position with the potential to become permanent for the right person
You will be paid on a weekly basis, and as your direct employer Teaching Personnel will pay a national insurance and pension contribution for you.
