Supporting Autism on a 1:1 and small group basis

Autistic Children - Year 5

SEN Teaching Assistant - Key Stage 2 - Autism - Rochdale Primary School, Heywood, OL10

Teaching Personnel are working closely with a larger than average primary school in the Eccles area of Heywood, OL10 to appoint an SEN Teaching Assistant to work with an Autistic child in year 5 on a long term basis.

Due to an influx of children in key stage 2, this Salford Primary school need additional support with an autistic child. The successful applicant for this role will start as soon as possible.

This is an above average sized Primary School in Salford, catering for children aged (4-11) with a great staff team, welcoming opportunities within their classrooms and several opportunities for CPD.

The Position:

  • Supporting Autism (ASC) in Key Stage 2.
  • Recognising trigger points and crisis points for children.
  • Supporting with communication using PECS
  • Using visual timetables such as "Now and Next"

The Candidate Experience:

  • Psychology Graduate - understanding of communication issues and barriers
  • Social Workers and Youth Workers
  • SEN Teaching Assistants with Autism or similar experience
  • Respite Carers
