SEN Teaching Assistant

Job description

Teaching Personnel are working with a School in the New Forest area who are recruiting for an experienced Teaching Assistant to support pupils with SEN. The school are a supportive and friendly network with excellent facilities.

The school is an SEN School in Lymington, catering for pupils with Autism. The majority of the pupils have Aspergers Syndrome and are high functioning.

The successful TAs daily duties will include:

  • Providing 1:1 support for children
  • Working with small groups
  • Helping children to socially interact with other children
  • Use your initiative to differentiate activities to support the child's needs
  • Following EHC plans and reward systems for the pupils

To be a successful candidate for this role you will need to:

  • Have previous experience working within a school supporting children with SEN
  • Be able to communicate effectively with different members of staff and parents
  • Have knowledge of the National Curriculum
  • Have a friendly caring personality
  • Preferably an NVQ Level 2 or equivalent in Supporting Teaching and Learning in the classroom

All applicants will require the appropriate qualification and training for this role. For teacher roles, we require a formally recognised teaching qualification. For Support staff our minimum requirement is GCSE English & Maths (A-C) or equivalent.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.
