SEN Teaching Assistant – Full-Time Role (Swinton, November Start)
Teaching Personnel is working in partnership with a welcoming and inclusive primary school in Swinton to recruit a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant. This full-time role (8:30am – 3:30pm) begins in November and involves providing tailored support to pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN), both one-to-one and in small groups.
The school, rated ‘Good’ by Ofsted, is committed to delivering a broad and balanced curriculum that supports every learner. You’ll be joining a collaborative and caring team focused on helping each child thrive in a nurturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide targeted support to pupils with SEN, both individually and in small group settings
- Assist the class teacher with planning and delivering differentiated learning activities
- Support the implementation and monitoring of Individual Education Plans (IEPs)
- Help maintain an inclusive, engaging, and safe classroom environment
- Collaborate with teachers, SENCOs, and external professionals to promote pupil progress
- Adapt support strategies based on individual needs and feedback
Candidate Requirements
- GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths
- Experience working with children with SEN
- A patient, empathetic, and flexible approach to supporting young learners
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- A commitment to safeguarding and child welfare
- Level 2 Safeguarding certification (training available if required)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
