SEN Teaching Assistant – Full-Time (Urmston) | January Start

Teaching Personnel is partnering with a well-regarded, inclusive primary school in Urmston to appoint a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant. This full-time position (8:30am – 3:30pm), starting in January, centres on providing personalised one-to-one and small-group support to pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN).

Rated Outstanding by Ofsted, the school is committed to offering a broad and balanced curriculum that supports every child’s individual needs. You will be joining a warm, collaborative team that is passionate about helping pupils thrive in a nurturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Delivering targeted SEN support to pupils on a one-to-one basis and in small groups
  • Assisting the class teacher in planning and delivering personalised learning activities
  • Supporting the implementation and review of Individual Education Plans (IEPs)
  • Helping to maintain an inclusive, engaging, and safe classroom setting
  • Working closely with teachers, SENCOs, and external professionals to promote pupil progress
  • Monitoring pupil development and adapting support where necessary

What We’re Looking For

  • GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths
  • Previous experience supporting children with SEN
  • A patient, empathetic, and adaptable approach
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • A commitment to safeguarding and child wellbeing
  • Level 2 Safeguarding certification (or willingness to complete training)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
