Job description

Year 4 SEN Teaching Assistant – Full-Time – Stretford (Start: November 2025)

Teaching Personnel is proud to be partnering with a dynamic and inclusive primary school in Stretford. We are seeking a committed and compassionate Teaching Assistant to join the Year 4 team, providing tailored support to pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN) through both one-to-one and small group interventions.

The Role:

As a Year 4 SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to support pupils’ academic progress and emotional wellbeing. Your role will be instrumental in fostering a nurturing learning environment and adapting activities to meet individual needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver one-to-one and small group support for pupils with diverse SEN needs
  • Assist in planning and delivering personalised learning activities
  • Support the implementation and review of Individual Education Plans (IEPs)
  • Promote an inclusive and positive classroom culture
  • Collaborate with teaching staff, SEN professionals, and external agencies
  • Monitor and report on pupil progress and engagement

About You:

We’re looking for someone who is passionate about making a difference in the lives of children with additional needs.

Essential Requirements:

  • Experience supporting children with SEN in a school or similar setting
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • A proactive and collaborative approach to working within a team
  • Minimum of GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths
  • Level 2 Safeguarding training (or willingness to complete—training provided)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
