Job description

Year 4 SEN Teaching Assistant – Full-Time – Stretford (September 2025 Start)

Teaching Personnel is delighted to be working in partnership with a vibrant, inclusive primary school in Stretford, rated Outstanding by Ofsted. We are currently recruiting a dedicated Teaching Assistant to join the Year 4 team, supporting pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN) through individual and small group interventions.

About the Role:

In this rewarding position, you’ll work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to help pupils with SEN succeed both academically and emotionally. You’ll play a key part in creating a supportive learning environment, adapting activities to suit individual needs and encouraging pupil development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-to-one and small group support for Year 4 pupils with varying SEN requirements
  • Assist with planning, adapting, and delivering tailored learning activities
  • Support the implementation and review of Individual Education Plans (IEPs)
  • Foster a positive, inclusive classroom atmosphere
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, SEN staff, and external specialists
  • Help monitor pupil progress and engagement

About You:

We’re looking for someone with a genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs, and the skills to make a meaningful impact in the classroom.

Requirements:

  • Experience supporting children with SEN in a school or similar setting
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • A proactive, team-oriented approach
  • Minimum of GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths
  • Level 2 Safeguarding training (or willingness to complete—training can be provided)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
