Year 2 SEN Teaching Assistant – Full-Time Role in Wythenshawe (September Start)
Teaching Personnel is working in partnership with a well-regarded, inclusive primary school in Wythenshawe to recruit a dedicated Year 2 Teaching Assistant. This full-time role (8:30am – 3:30pm) is set to begin in September and involves supporting pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN) on a one-to-one basis and in small groups.
The school is rated ‘Good’ by Ofsted and is committed to providing a broad and balanced curriculum that meets the needs of all learners. You’ll be part of a supportive team working to ensure every child reaches their full potential in a nurturing environment.
Your Responsibilities:
- Provide targeted support to pupils with SEN, both individually and in small groups
- Assist the class teacher with planning and delivering personalised learning activities
- Support the implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs)
- Help create an inclusive, engaging, and safe classroom environment
- Collaborate with teachers, SENCOs, and external professionals to support pupil development
- Monitor and encourage progress, adapting support as needed
What We’re Looking For:
- GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths
- Previous experience working with children with SEN
- A patient, empathetic, and adaptable approach to supporting young learners
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
- Level 2 Safeguarding certification (training can be provided if not yet obtained)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
