Job description

Teaching Assistant – Year 2 SEN Support (Levenshulme)
Start Date: After October Half Term | Full-Time (8:30am – 3:30pm)

Teaching Personnel is proud to be working in partnership with a well-regarded primary school in Levenshulme, currently seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to support pupils in Year 2 with a range of Special Educational Needs (SEN). This role involves both small group work and one-to-one support, helping children reach their full potential in a nurturing and inclusive environment.

The school is rated “Good” and is committed to fostering the spiritual, physical, social, and intellectual development of every child, regardless of ability.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide tailored support to pupils with SEN, both individually and in small groups.
  • Assist the class teacher in planning and delivering differentiated learning activities.
  • Help implement and monitor Individual Education Plans (IEPs).
  • Create a positive, inclusive learning environment that encourages pupil engagement.
  • Collaborate with teaching staff and external professionals to support holistic development.

Candidate Requirements:

  • Minimum of GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths.
  • Previous experience working with children with SEN.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively within a team.
  • Level 2 Safeguarding qualification (training available if not yet completed).

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
