A specialist school in Bradford are looking to appoint a Special Needs Teaching Assistant for a full time role, starting as soon as possible. The successful candidate will have an opportunity to apply for a permanent role in school following this period.
The school caters for pupils aged 11-16 with a range of complex educational and medical needs (ASC, MLD, PMLD) and are seeking a positive role model to share the school's ethos and desire to achieve.
As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a key role in delivering care and support programmes, to enable access to learning for pupils with Special Educational Needs. You will be required to support pupils at mealtimes - including feeding and/or Personal Care.
The ideal candidate will have:
- A recognised Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant Qualification
- Team Teach, Moving and Handling, Makaton and/or PECs training
- A positive and patient approach to teaching and learning
Situated just a 7 minute drive from the centre of Bradford, the school also has excellent transport links. Recently rated 'Good with Outstanding Features' by Ofsted (October 2017), the staff are committed to meeting the holistic needs of all pupils and to provide high quality teaching and learning for all pupils.
