SEN Teacher – Alternative Education
Location: North Northamptonshire
Salary: £30,000 to £40,000 (Based on experience) Plus valuable Benefits
Contract: Full-time, Permanent
Start Date: As soon as possible
Our client, a well-established alternative education provider, is seeking a compassionate and skilled SEN Teacher to join their dedicated team in North Northamptonshire. This is a unique and rewarding opportunity to support young people with a range of special educational needs, helping them access education in a way that suits their individual requirements and circumstances.
About the Role:
As an SEN Teacher, you will deliver bespoke teaching and learning experiences to students with varying needs, including ASD, ADHD, SEMH, and other complex learning profiles. Lessons may take place in community settings, pupils’ homes, or designated outreach locations. You will work closely with support staff, families, and other professionals to create and implement highly personalised learning programmes.
Key Responsibilities:

Design and deliver differentiated lessons that meet EHCP outcomes and individual learning goals

Build strong, trusting relationships with students to foster engagement and emotional safety

Develop and maintain individual education plans (IEPs) in collaboration with multi-agency teams

Monitor, assess, and report on progress using a variety of tools and approaches
-
Support students in developing social, emotional, and communication skills alongside academic goals
Requirements:

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification is required
-
Experience working with children and young people with special educational needs
-
Knowledge of relevant SEN frameworks, strategies, and interventions

Excellent communication and behaviour management skills
-
A creative, adaptable, and empathetic approach
-
A valid UK driving licence and access to a vehicle (travel between sites may be required)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
