We are currently working with an Outstanding special school based in Enfield. They cater to students between the ages of 3-11 years old with a statement of Autism (ASD) of varying speech and language abilities.
They are currently looking for a Primary Teacher to join their ranks for a role beginning in January to cover a teacher who is moving out of the area. The school groups students by ability and focuses ona specialised senory curriculum, designed to enhance and highlight the abilities of their students. The school has approximately 122 students across 17 classes which hold 7-8 pupils per class along with 1 teacher and 3-4 teaching assistants to support both teachers and student development.
The school also benefits from having Occupational, Physio and educational therapists to ably assist both students and staff members alike.
The school has regular CPD training to ensure both their staff and students are getting the most out of the education sector and have a very low staff turnover rate due to the warm and enviting environment of the school.
They are now looking for a primary SEN specialist teacher to work across their primary level classes who has experience working with students with Autism and speech and language needs.
Experience with Makaton and PECS is highly desireable as the school uses this as their maiin teaching tool for non-verbal students.
The ideal candidate must:
-Have experience working with students with Autism
-Have Qualified Teacher Status and a teacher refernce number (applications made by unqualified teachers will not be considered)
-Have right to work in the UK
-Have a DBS on the update service or be willing to apply for one
-Be available full-time
