Food Technology Teacher needed at a secondary school in Trafford

Our client Secondary School, a leading educational institution located in the heart of Trafford, is seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and dedicated Food Technology Teacher to join their dynamic and committed team from September 2024. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching Food Technology to students in Key Stages 3, 4, and 5.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Planning, preparing, and delivering engaging and effective lessons that cater to the diverse learning needs of students.
  • Creating a positive and inclusive learning environment that encourages students to develop a love for food technology and cooking.
  • Assessing student progress regularly and providing constructive feedback to support their development.
  • Collaborating with colleagues to develop cross-curricular projects that enhance the learning experience for students.
  • Keeping up-to-date with developments in food technology education and incorporating new techniques and technologies into teaching practice.

Essential Qualifications:

  • A degree or equivalent qualification in Food Science, Nutrition, or a related field.
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or the willingness to obtain it before starting employment.
  • A strong understanding of food technology curriculum requirements at Key Stages 3, 4, and 5.
  • Experience of teaching food technology or a related subject at secondary level.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to engage effectively with students, parents, and colleagues.
  • A commitment to ongoing professional development.

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Experience of working in a secondary school setting or similar educational environment.
  • Knowledge of current trends and developments in food technology education.
  • Experience of using technology in the classroom to enhance teaching and learning experiences.
  • A passion for cooking and food technology outside of the classroom setting.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
