SEN Learning Support Assistants

Learning Support Assistants - No School Based Experience Required

Teaching Personnel are working closely with numerous schools across Northampton that are currently in desperate need for SEN Support. We are looking for Learning Support Assistants to work closely with SEN children with additional needs, including ADHD, Autism, Global Development Delay and Social & Emotional Mental Health. We are looking for passionate people who have experience with SEN in any settings, preferably as a Teaching Assistant/Learning Support Assistant, but no school based experience is officially required. This role would suit people coming from a background in Care or Social Work.

Who we're looking for…

  • Passionate individuals dedicated to making a real difference to children with SEN
  • People with engaging and interactive personalities
  • People who have experience working with SEN in some capacity
  • Individuals that are looking to develop their own learning and knowledge

Whilst you do not need to have any school based experience, experience working with SEN is important. This can come in any way, shape, or form, but it is crucial that you have previously been exposed to an environment where there have been children or adults with additional needs. Experience as a Teaching Assistant / Learning Support Assistant desirable but not essential.

You will need to hold a valid Child Workforce DBS on the Update Service in order to register with Teaching Personnel, if you do not already have this in place we can facilitate your application.

About our schools…

Teaching Personnel work with various 'Good' and 'Outstanding' Primary & Secondary Schools for children with a range of Special Educational Needs. These include both purpose built SEN schools as well as Designated Special Provisions (DSPs) attached to mainstream schools. The schools that we work with are located in the Milton Keynes area, as well as Bedford, Luton and Northamptonshire.

If you're currently searching for a Teaching Assistant/Learning Support Assistant position working with SEN children then apply today and a member of our SEN team will call you to discuss more. Alternatively, you can call 01604 521215 or send a copy of your CV

All applicants will require the appropriate qualification and training for this role. For teacher roles, we require a formally recognised teaching qualification. For Support staff our minimum requirement is GCSE English & Maths (A-C) or equivalent.

Teaching Personnel is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. All candidates must undertake or have undertaken a valid enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check. Full assistance provided.
