Are you a confident HLTA with experience supporting children with special educational needs?

Teaching Personnel is currently recruiting passionate and skilled Higher Level Teaching Assistants (HLTAs) for full-time positions in SEN schools across Salford, Wigan, Bolton, and Warrington, starting September 2025.

This is a fantastic opportunity to work in specialist primary and secondary settings supporting pupils with a range of additional needs, including autism (ASC), ADHD, speech and language difficulties, moderate to severe learning difficulties (MLD/SLD), and social, emotional and mental health (SEMH).

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver pre-planned lessons or interventions under the direction of the teacher or SENCO

• Provide 1:1 or small group support tailored to pupils’ EHCPs

• Help manage classroom behaviour in line with individual behaviour plans

• Assist in planning, tracking, and assessing learning progress

• Support with personal care or sensory needs where required

• Create a safe, inclusive, and structured learning environment

We’re Looking For:

• Qualified HLTA status (or equivalent experience in an SEN setting)

• Full-time availability, Monday to Friday, term time only

• Strong behaviour management and communication skills

• Experience supporting pupils with SEN or SEMH needs

• A calm, patient, and resilient attitude

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
