Special School Support Assistants Needed

  • Long Term full time role (Monday – Friday 8:30 – 15:30)
  • Competitive pay rates
  • Working 1:1 and in small groups

A school in Waltham Forest, East London are looking for Special School Support staff to provide support to pupils with SEN in a classroom setting. Your main responsibilities will include attending their individual care needs and supporting the classroom teacher with tailored focused activities and curriculum. You will also use different levels of communication to communicate with the students and support them with their social interaction and development. You will be working 1:1 and in small groups depending on your experience.

The School caters for children aged 2-11 years and provides high quality educational experience for PMLD and Complex Need pupils,

The Ideal candidate will have:

•Previous experience working with SEN children

•Knowledge or training on safeguarding children is ideal

•Experience working with ASD & PMLD either adults or children is highly beneficial

•Personal care training

•Moving and handling

All applicants will require the appropriate qualification and training for this role. For teacher roles, we require a formally recognised teaching qualification. For Support staff our minimum requirement is GCSE English & Maths (A-C) or equivalent.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.
