Behaviour Support Mentor needed Bromley

An exciting and unique opportunity has arisen for you to work in a wonderful KS1/5 alternative provision for girls and boys with SEBD/SEMH based in two sites in Bromley!

This is a full time permanent Behaviour Support Mentor post on offer to start in September 2017 with a salary between £20k to £25k

The academy is part of a leading trust which aims to provide outstanding education and training for children and young people. It brings together specialist provisions to providing an alternative to mainstream education within the local area.

About the School:

The academy has recently developed into a mixed gender Key Stage 2 to 5 provision from September 2016. With this growth has come the introduction of a brand new site, where Key Stage 4 and 5 students are now located. The site is purpose built to focus on vocational subject areas, allowing the pupils there to specialise in subject areas that can provide them with a platform to Level 3 qualifications at higher education or employment.

Person Specification for Behaviour Support Mentor – SEBD/SEMH School

Ideally experienced SEMH Teaching Assistant/ Behaviour Mentor/ or experience in SEN schools. Prior experience in SEMH and challenging behaviour pupils is not mandatory but desired.

About the Role of Behaviour Support Mentor – SEBD/SEMH School

This post will involve working 1:1 with a secondary aged pupil with challenging behaviour/ social emotional mental health difficulties. You will need to build a strong relationship with the pupil, report on progress and help implement specific education and behaviour plans.
