Teaching Personnel are working in partnership with a Secondary Pupil Referral Unit in Stockport who are looking to recruit experienced support staff to work within their school. The role would mainly be working as a classroom assistant, occasionally working as focused 1:1 support with pupils in Year 10.
The school caters for pupils who have been excluded from mainstream school and supports their social, emotional and academic development in a more specific and supervised environment. The school has two sites in Marple and Stockport. One site focuses on academic progression and the other has a link with Stockport College to provide vocational courses for students. The school is committed to the reintegration of pupils back into mainstream school and each pupil has an Individual Education Plan to help achieve this where possible.
The ideal Teaching Assistant will have;
• Experience working with young people with challenging behaviour
• Experience of using divert and de-escalation strategies
• A passion for helping students progress
• A calm, caring nature
• An enhanced DBS on the update service
• Team-Teach training (or similar)
