Teaching Assistant with experience dealing with extreme behaviour, Spennymoor

Teaching Personnel are working in partnership with a School in Spennymoor to recruit a Behaviour Support Mentor with KS3 and KS4 SEMH experience to start as soon as possible.

The successful applicants would have experience with SEMH and challenging behaviours and would posses the correct behaviours in order to support and re-engage SEMH students within a KS3 and KS4 classroom setting. Additional training such as Team Teach is advantageous but not essential however any applicants that are successful must be willing to undergo a Team Teach Course. We would also welcome applicants with relevant transferrable skills such as ex forces, sports coaches and Youth Workers.

Our ideal candidate will have:

• 6 months experience working with SEMH/challenging behaviours

• Team Teach Trained or equivalent (e.g. PRICE/MAYBO)

• Experience supporting children with SEMH or a willingness to learn

• Patient and nurturing mannerism with excellent behaviour management skills

All applicants will require the appropriate qualification and training for this role. For teacher roles, we require a formally recognised teaching qualification. For Support staff our minimum requirement is GCSE English & Maths (A-C) or equivalent.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.
