We are seeking a dedicated and resilient Behavior Support Assistant to provide additional support to our incredible students. As a Behavior Support Assistant, you will play a vital role in creating a nurturing and inclusive environment where every student feels empowered to succeed and thrive.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide one-on-one and group support to secondary-aged students with SEMH needs, helping them to develop positive coping strategies and social-emotional skills.
- Collaborate closely with teachers, SENCOs, and external agencies to implement behavior support plans tailored to individual student needs, ensuring consistency and effectiveness.
- Assist in de-escalating and managing challenging behaviors, using proven techniques and approaches to promote positive outcomes and safety for all students.
- Foster positive relationships with students, building trust and rapport to support their emotional well-being and academic progress.
- Implement and adapt strategies to support students in accessing the curriculum and achieving their full potential in line with their Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs).
Requirements:
- Previous experience working with students with SEMH needs in a secondary school or similar setting is highly desirable.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and establish positive relationships with students, colleagues, and external professionals.
- Resilience, patience, and a proactive approach to supporting students through challenging situations, with a focus on promoting resilience and self-regulation.
- A genuine passion for working with young people and a commitment to their well-being and success.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
