Teaching Assistants required for SEN school in rural Haywards Heath

  • Pay rate from £8.07 - £8.50 ph depending on experience

I am currently looking for Teaching Assistants to support a residential children's home. The ideal candidate will need to be very firm and experienced as the role will mainly be 1:1 teaching so you will need to be able to manage behaviour that can be very challenging. This learners are aged between 11 - 16 years and have SEMH, MLD, OCD, ADHD and/or Attachment Disorder They students have experienced a difficult and emotional upbringing and find it difficult to trust people to start with. You will use your patient, caring nature to build bridges and earn trust which will in turn allow learners to engage in lessons and develop academically and emotionally. This is a therapuetic, educational setting and you will be well-supported and trained to complete your job to the best of your ability. Due to the location of the school, we will require applicants who have their own transport. An enhanced DBS registered to the update service is also desirable.

All applicants will require the appropriate qualification and training for this role. For teacher roles, we require a formally recognised teaching qualification. For Support staff our minimum requirement is GCSE English & Maths (A-C) or equivalent.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.
