Secondary school Teaching Assistant- Wigan

Teaching Personnel are seeking a Teaching Assistant for a high performing secondary school located in Wigan. This position will include supporting across all year groups both in lessons and with small intervention groups;

  • Full time Teaching Assistant position
  • Required to start ASAP
  • Supporting across all year groups with a particular focus on working in Maths, English, History & Geography lessons
  • School located in central Wigan

Due to the continued high standards of our partner school, the Senior Leadership team are seeking the support of a Teaching Assistant to provide additional support in all lessons. There will be a particular focus on support in Maths, English, History and Geography lessons because of the upcoming GCSE period. Therefore, a degree or previous experience of supporting with these subjects is preferred.

The school is a highly reputable within the local area and is regularly over-subscribed. In the school's most recent Ofsted report, the behaviour of the pupils was considered to be good with them having positive attitudes to learning. Therefore the incoming Teaching Assistant will be working with engaged pupils who will value the additional support.

Most of the pupils who attend the school are from White British backgrounds. Further, there are a small number of pupils who speak English as an Additional Language and those with special educational needs are below average.

The school is centrally located offering excellent accessibility to the surrounding areas near to the town centre of Wigan.

All applicants will require the appropriate qualification and training for this role. For teacher roles, we require a formally recognised teaching qualification. For Support staff our minimum requirement is GCSE English & Maths (A-C) or equivalent.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.
