Science Teacher – Biology Specialist

Teaching Personnel, the market leader of education recruitment in the UK, are working in partnership with a secondary school in Trafford who are seeking a Science Teacher who is a Biology specialist to join them from January 2020. Although initially on a temporary contract, there is a permanent gap in the department due to a restructuring of the staffing team.

• Full time Science Teacher, required in January 2020

• Permanent gap in the department, although temporary contract at first

• ‘Good’ effectiveness of leadership and management, Ofsted 2017

• Teaching all Science’s up to GCSE level and Biology up to KS5

• Pay in line with MPS and UPS, paid on a weekly basis

Situated close to Old Trafford football stadium, this secondary school has excellent public transport links including local bus routes and a Metrolink station close by. The school have a positive Progress 8 score of 0.11 which shows that the students enrolled at the school make at least expected progress through the hard work and dedication of the teaching and support staff.

The ideal candidate should have:

• Have the ability to teach all Science's up to GCSE and Biology up to A-Level

• Evidence of good quality teaching and subject knowledge

• An understanding of how to use assessment to inform planning for excellent teaching and learning

• The ability to differentiate materials to meet the needs of the learners

• Evidence of good behaviour management skills

• A willingness to contribute to enrichment activities
