Humanities Teacher required in Leyland from January 2018

  • Full-time
  • All Humanities specialists will be considered
  • 'Good' school

A 'Good' catholic secondary school I work in partnership with, in the Leyland area, are seeking a Humanities Teacher full-time from January until Easter, at least to fill a gap within the department. The position has previously been filled by a Teacher from Sept-Dec, however due to unforseen circumstances they were no longer able to continue and the school require another Teacher from January - Easter, at least. This could potentially lead to permanent work.

This is a 'Good' catholic secondary school who work solely with Teaching Personnel. The school are seeking a Teacher of Humanities (all subjects will be considered) however, the timetable is heavily weighted with RE lessons. It is easily accessible via public transport links and has excellent onsite parking facilities.

The incoming Humanities Teacher MUST have:

- A valid UK PGCE in any Humanities specialism with QTS/QTLS

- Recent teaching experience within the UK

- Excellent subject knowledge up to GCSE

- Experience of teaching the new GCSE exam specification

- Commitment to parents evenings



Rate of pay for this school will be anywhere between £95 - £130 due to previously agreed rates with the school. This rate will be inclusive of marking students work, the planning and preparation and any whole school/departmental meetings. In return, the school can offer you a long term opportunity in a welcoming and friendly environment, the possible opportunity of a permanent position if the initial placement is successful and access to any staff CPD.
