Full-Time Receptionist / Administrative Assistant – Maternity Cover
Location: Chorley
Start Date: November 3rd, 2025
Contract: 1 Year (Maternity Leave Cover)
Hours: Full-time, Term Time Only
We are looking for a friendly, professional, and highly organised Receptionist / Administrative Assistant to join our school office team in Chorley for a 1-year maternity cover, starting November 3rd, 2025.
This is a key front-of-house role within the school, where you’ll be the first point of contact for parents, visitors, and staff—helping to ensure the smooth running of daily operations.
Key Responsibilities:

Manage reception duties including answering calls, welcoming visitors, and handling enquiries

Provide general administrative support to the school team
-
Maintain accurate records, files, and databases
-
Assist with attendance monitoring and communications to parents
-
Support with correspondence, school newsletters, and document preparation
-
Handle confidential information with professionalism and discretion
Requirements:
-
Previous experience in a school or office administration role preferred
-
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
-
Strong IT skills (Microsoft Office, SIMS or other school systems desirable)
-
Ability to multitask, prioritise, and remain calm under pressure
-
Friendly, approachable, and professional manner
-
Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain one)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
