Job Advertisement: Level 2 Teaching Assistant (Secondary School)
Location: Leyland
Start Date: September 29th, 2025
Contract: Full-Time, Fixed-Term (until the end of the academic year)
Hours: 32.5 hours per week (term time only)
Salary: Dependent on experience and in line with national pay scales

Are you passionate about supporting young people in their learning and development? Do you have the skills to make a real difference in the classroom? We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Level 2 Teaching Assistant to join our supportive team in a vibrant and inclusive secondary school in Leyland.

About the Role:

This full-time position offers an exciting opportunity to work closely with teaching staff to support students' learning across a range of subjects. You will assist in delivering high-quality education, promote student progress, and help create a positive, inclusive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide in-class support to students, including those with additional needs

  • Assist teachers with lesson preparation and classroom management

  • Deliver targeted interventions in small groups or one-to-one settings

  • Support students in developing their confidence, skills, and independence

  • Contribute to the overall wellbeing and safeguarding of students

The Ideal Candidate Will:

  • Hold a Level 2 qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning (or equivalent)

  • Have experience working with young people in a secondary school setting

  • Demonstrate good literacy and numeracy skills

  • Show patience, resilience, and strong interpersonal skills

  • Be a proactive team player with a flexible, can-do attitude

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
